The JVC DLA-NZ500 brings native 4K D-ILA projection to a comprehensively redesigned, compact chassis. Its optical unit, lens and circuit board have all been re-engineered, while three 0.69-inch D-ILA devices deliver a native resolution of 4096 × 2160. A newly designed, large-aperture 80 mm lens, comprising 15 elements in 11 groups, preserves fine detail right into the corners of the screen. JVC’s proprietary BLU-Escent light source uses a blue laser diode to achieve 2,000 lumens of brightness, with an expected laser life of approximately 20,000 hours. A native contrast ratio of 40,000:1 gives images striking depth, while Deep Black Tone Control refines darker areas for richer gradation and more convincing night-time scenes. Second-generation Frame Adapt HDR analyses HDR10 content scene by scene or frame by frame, applying real-time tone mapping to optimise the projected image. Refined tone-curve selection delivers brighter, more colourful HDR images with a wider dynamic range. HDR10+ support and FILMMAKER MODE help preserve the creator’s intentions, while motorised zoom, focus and lens shift offer flexible installation.
