Amplification

Rooted in Yamaha’s Natural Sound philosophy, the A-S701 integrated stereo amplifier combines meticulous engineering with richly musical reproduction. Its ToP-ART design arranges the left and right channels in a straight, symmetrical signal path to preserve purity, while the rigid ART Base and solid centre bar help damp unwanted vibration. A custom-made power transformer, 12,000 µF block capacitors and extruded aluminium heat sinks underpin its assured performance. Delivering 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms, the A-S701 offers both CD Direct Amplification and Pure Direct mode. CD Direct optimises the signal-to-noise ratio for CD playback, while Pure Direct bypasses the buffer amplifier and tone, loudness and balance controls for the shortest possible signal route. Continuously variable loudness control helps maintain a full tonal balance when listening at lower volumes. Optical and coaxial digital inputs accommodate television and Blu-ray sources, while an MM phono input welcomes vinyl playback. Gold-plated speaker and input terminals provide high-quality connections, with a dedicated subwoofer output for additional bass reinforcement. Speaker A, B or A+B selection allows two speaker systems to be used independently or together; an optional YBA-11 adapter enables Bluetooth streaming and can be powered from the rear-panel DC output. A refined aluminium front panel, luxurious control knobs and an illuminated rotary input selector bring tactile elegance to everyday listening. The simply arranged remote also controls a compatible Yamaha CD player, while automatic standby reduces power consumption after approximately eight hours without use.
