Amplification

The Technics SU-G700M2 stereo integrated amplifier brings reference-inspired engineering to the art of musical reproduction. Its fully digital power amplification uses the JENO Engine, combining jitter reduction across the audible frequency range with high-precision PWM conversion to reveal natural textures and delicate musical nuances. LAPC measures the amplifier’s frequency amplitude and phase characteristics with your loudspeakers connected, then applies adaptive digital correction for a richly expressive sense of space. Derived from the reference-class SU-R1000, the high-speed, low-noise power supply operates at a switching frequency of 400 kHz and employs GaN FETs and SiC Schottky barrier diodes. An ultra-low-noise regulator further supports stable, responsive power delivery. Inside, a three-section construction separates circuit blocks according to signal level to minimise interference, while a double-layer steel base, substantial steel top panel and 7 mm aluminium fascia help suppress vibration. For vinyl listening, the low-noise phono input now supports MC cartridges, with four gain settings to tailor performance to the cartridge in use. A Class AA headphone amplifier employs separate voltage and current amplification circuits, enabling low-distortion reproduction over a wide frequency range across differing headphone loads. Carefully selected components complete the design, including a Technics-exclusive electrolytic capacitor also used in the SU-R1000, a substantial grounding terminal and gold-plated brass loudspeaker terminals. Non-magnetic brass screws secure the signal-carrying cables at the speaker terminals, reflecting the attention given to every stage of the audio path.
