R5 Meta

Loudspeakers

Compact and elegant, the KEF R5 Meta brings music and the magic of cinematic effects into your listening room without compromise. This three-way floorstanding loudspeaker combines a Uni-Q array featuring a 125 mm midrange driver and a 25 mm aluminium-dome tweeter with twin 130 mm hybrid bass drivers, delivering exquisite detail alongside dedicated low-frequency performance. Drawing directly on innovations developed for KEF’s flagship The Reference series, the R Series pairs a refined 12th-generation Uni-Q driver array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT). Its intricate, maze-like structure absorbs 99% of unwanted sound from behind the tweeter, reducing the resulting distortion for a purer, more natural presentation. The Uni-Q array has been re-engineered to make the most of MAT, with a specially designed conical waveguide and two rings of porous material that help reduce resonances and acoustic imperfections. The result is enhanced clarity and finely resolved detail, bringing an authentic, panoramic perspective to both two-channel hi-fi and multichannel home cinema.
